Best Farms in Curaçao
Growing up, my grandfather had a small farm next to his house in Seru Grandi, not far from Dinah Veeris’ Den Paradera botanical garden. As a young boy, we’d often visit other farms to exchange and buy fresh produce. He taught me that growing your own food connects you with nature and allows you to be more self-sufficient.
Curaçao, with its rich multicultural heritage, has a deep agricultural history, rooted in old plantations from the island’s past. Today, you can taste this history in local dishes (kuminda krioyo) like concomber chikito (local cucumber), besta chikito (goat meat), sopi cadushi (cactus soup), and sopi jambo (okra soup) at places like Plasa Bieu.
In this section, we’ll explore the best farms in Curaçao, that have clear contact information and are easy to find. The best farms are divided into four categories: Hydroponic Farms, Traditional Farms, Specialty Farms, and Animal Farms. Whether you’re interested in traditional crops or innovative farming techniques, these farms offer a window into Curaçao’s agricultural richness and the passion behind its fresh, local produce.
